On behalf of Winstone Aggregates, Brunel has been engaged to successfully recruit and place a suitably qualified Regional Quarry Manager, to lead and manage performance of the Lower North Island region of New Zealand, including 3 established quarries in Wellington, Otaki and Napier, and a transport region, while identifying opportunities for optimization and implementing strategies to achieve ambitious targets.

A leader in aggregate products and services in New Zealand, Winstone Aggregates operates 11 extractive quarries, 2 Joint Venture quarries with partners, a national transport solution and laboratory network. As part of the Fletcher Building group of companies, this role additionally opens the door to longer term career opportunities across the infrastructure and building industry.

The Role

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing the performance of the assigned quarries, for the overall growth and performance of the portfolio and for driving operational excellence, an innovation mindset and above all else, a strong safety culture – “Our highest priority is to protect our people and our environment”.

  • Developing long term business strategy, communicating a compelling and inspired vision.
  • Championing a culture of high performance and innovation-oriented individuals.
  • Being an active member of a cross-functional senior leadership team.
  • Regularly travelling between various sites.

  • Experience in shaping industrial assets, with a proven track record of success in a leadership capacity.
  • Technical knowledge of processing systems, equipment and operations in an industrial, resources or hard rock facility would be highly regarded.
  • Previous P&L experience in region of NZ$25-30 Million PA.
  • An innovative mindset and a growth focus.
