The Role

On behalf of WA’s leading energy provider, Brunel have been engaged to successfully recruit and place a suitably qualified Master Data Officer, to undertake tasks to improve the integrity and quality of plant master data. The role will primarily be based on site in Collie although some travel will be required to other locations on an adhoc basis, including Kwinana, Perth and Collie. This engagement is for an initial period of 8 months, ending 30 June 2022, with a likely extension.

  • Validation of the Functional Locations to match what is currently installed in the plant. Identify missing FLOCs and create them according to the Asset Management Plan actions and/or recommendations
  • Reviewing/updating the Functional Location information and hierarchy in accordance with company guidelines/policy, including: Numbering & naming conventions, rules associated with the structuring of Functional Locations, sub-Functional Locations, Equipment, PM Assemblies, and other SAP Technical Object Structure elements. What data elements/fields are required to be completed for each element in the structure/hierarchy (e.g. Manufacturer, Model No., Warranty Details, etc.)
  • Validation and updating Maintenance Strategies in SAP
  • Validation and updating of Bills of Materials (BOMs)
  • Validation of Spares Part List. Review the authorised spare parts cataloguing information (vendor, manufacturing part numbers, unit price, lead time, purchasing information) to support primary and secondary maintenance work. Review inventory MRP settings (min/max, material criticality assessment) in SAP



To be successful in this role, you should possess the ability to work from different site locations, have a good understanding of cataloguing practices, understand SAP materials management, and bring solid technical knowledge, as this is critical to the success of this engagement. Accountabilities, progress, quality and service delivery will be managed closely and continuously via agile sprint planning, review and retrospective practices.

The ideal candidate will likely have experience as Mechanical Fitter, Electrical Instrument Fitter or Maintenance Planner and the following experience and attributes would also be highly regarded:

  • Strong end user experience in SAP ERP environment
  • Knowledge of SAP material technical objects – material master and material specification
  • Extensive Knowledge of SAP PM technical objects including functional locations, equipment, and PM assemblies
  • Some Inventory and/or Maintenance planning experience in complex asset intensive industries
