About this role

Brunel is seeking an experience Maintenance Engineer to work with an International Oil and Gas company in Queensland.

The Maintenance Discipline Engineer, Electrical OR Controls and Instrumentation has responsibility to provide maintenance discipline expertise and support to ensure continuous improvement in maintenance strategy/activity/cost performance, integrity performance, sparing and technical data integrity and the delivery of modifications execution as required. They will interface with all functions to ensure maintenance improvement and applications of standards/ strategies ensuring Technical Integrity is in accordance with the best practices and HSSE standards to meet business targets.

Principal Accountability


  • To act at all times in accordance with the Policy on Health, Safety and Environment and provide assurance activities accordingly

Maintenance Execution

  • Support the documentation of Maintenance Execution and Assurance activities effectively with Discipline expertise
  • Co-ordination of maintenance modifications, interfacing with other functions to ensure effective implementation

Maintenance Strategies

  • Support Engineering to set maintenance strategy for the discipline in close consultation with Technical Authority, Engineering and Reliability Engineers on HSSE critical and production equipment in line with Global Manage Equipment Care requirements
  • Support the monitoring and development of equipment care plans to support MEC goals
  • Has input to Maintenance Reference Plan

Asset Register, Maintenance & Integrity Program

  • Regularly review HSSE critical and all maintenance data quality in the CMMS and drive improvements
  • Continuously improve the maintenance and integrity data within the CMMS and supporting systems including BOMs, material masters, WI, JP etc
  • Provide technical query support including the provision of reactive obsolescence management, technical bulletin responses, and purchasing technical query resolution
  • Work with engineering to support the application of Manage Equipment Care and Reliability Centered Maintenance within the business
  • To provide a linkage between front line and engineering as required

Management of Change

  • Liaise with Operation and relevant Technical Authorities in line with Global requirement on MOC


  • This position will be responsible for implementing planned maintenance and asset BOMs to support delivery of safe and reliable production
  • Works closely with other Maintenance Engineers and Maintenance Execution resources to identify maintenance improvement opportunities
  • Contributes to management and functional reviews and undertakes reviews of work practices.

  • A Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in an Engineering or Maintenance discipline or equivalent
  • Minimum of (3-5) years' oil & gas experience (operations and/or maintenance)
  • Proven records on Reliability/Integrity assurance and with maintenance engineering execution
  • Knowledge of sparing and inventory management
  • Experience with Management of Change process
  • Knowledgeable in API standards
  • Has proficiency in Spare management and Computerised Maintenance Management Systems



  • Daily Rate of $750/day including super
  • Brisbane CBD location
  • 12 Month contract
  • Monday to Friday role
